Two decades of delicious khao soi in Chiang Mai by the same friendly family


Owned for almost two decades by the same friendly family, this is one of the oldest – if not first – khaw soy restaurants in Chiang Mai, with an authentic Thai atmosphere. This is the place where locals eat their regular portion of this famous Northern-Thai food. Except for their delicious khao soi, the place offers a non-spicy noodle/curry dish and a Chiang Mai specialty. Other inexpensive Thai dishes are also available, like rice and noodles. Or try for example the sates with peanut sauce. But it’s for the delicious khao soi that they are famous for.

Tables change quickly though, so the waiting time is not that long. Anyway, the delicious khao soy makes it worth waiting.

So, how to get there? Lam Duon Farm is situated along the Ping river. If you are coming from the old side of the city, cross the Rama 9 bridge and then turn left into thanon Fa Ham. Follow this street for about 150 meters. You will find the restaurant on the right-hand side of the road.
