Time to cool down and have a swim in nature!
Only twenty minutes away from the city, Huay Tung Tao an artificial lake surrounded by a beautiful backdrop of mountains is an excellent getaway to escape the bustling city and to have a relaxing time on or near the water.
To get there is easy: turn into Huay Kaew road and turn right onto the 121 or canal road, drive on for about 5km till you see the sign on your left for Huay Tung Tao or take a songtaew (red cab) to get you there.
Ideally, with a group of friends or for family’s with young children, have some food and drinks in one of the many bamboo huts overlooking the water whilst the kids can play and swim within the boundary’s created by buoy’s that prevent them of going too far out in the water.
Huay Tung Tao lake is also the location that hosts the annual Chiang Mai Smile festival with great Rock, Reggae and Dance music that usually takes place around late November beginning December.
Cheap food and drinks without restrictions of local authorities will make for a good day out!
Open daily from morning till sunset.
Entrance fee for the park is the amazing amount of only 20 Baht for locals and foreigners alike.
